The work brings together the diverse classifications and conceptual frameworks through which certain critics and curators have approached video as a creative medium, at a moment when new possibilities for its use as a form of artistic expression were emerging in Cuba. The clips presented are drawn from our archive of recordings, produced throughout 2008 and 2009 at a range of events devoted to Cuban audiovisual art during this pivotal period.
